The Erasmus Mundus Action II is a co-operation and mobility scheme in the area of higher education co-operation launched by Europe Aid cooperation Office and implemented by the Executive Agency Education, Audiovisual and Culture (EACEA). The Erasmus Mundus Action II program provides support to:

higher education institutions to set-up inter-institutional cooperation partnerships between universities from Europe and targeted Third-Countries;

individual students, researchers and university staff who wish to spend a study / research / teaching period in the context of one of the above mentioned joint programs or cooperation partnerships. The specific objectives of Erasmus Mundus Partnerships (Action 2) are:

To contribute to the mutual enrichment of societies by developing the qualifications of men and woman so that they possess appropriate skills, particularly as regards the labour market, and are open-minded and internationally experienced

To promote mobility both for students, researchers and academics from third countries, especially from vulnerable groups, selected on the basis of academic excellence, to obtain qualifications and/or experience in the European Union

To contribute towards the development of human resources and the international co-operation capacity of higher education institutions in third countries through increased mobility streams between the EU and third countries in accordance with the principles of equal opportunities and non-discrimination.
